        THE CAMPAIGN

The struggle for survival on the streets is not just confined to the developing world and many children who are homeless and alone can be found close to our own doorsteps. Yet, despite this global presence, governments, institutions and the international community appear incapable of action which would enable street children to realise their rights and full potential.

Surely, in a modern world of vast resources and wealth it is within our means to end this shameful situation?  The time has come to stand up and be counted and remain focused on our goal until the number of children forced to live on the streets is ZERO.

On 15th September 2011 street children charities launched a major campaign aimed at ending this appalling situation for good.
(Message from the children at Retrak's Ethiopia drop-in centre below!...)
The ZERO Campaign will seek to create a mass movement to call for focused and concerted action to prevent street children being forced to live on the streets. This will require Governments, Multilateral Agencies, Donors, charities and communities around the world to work together, pool their resources and commit to achieving this goal. The Campaign does not seek special treatment for street children ahead of other children who find themselves “at risk” but it does demand an appropriate and proportionate response to address their particular needs and circumstances.
PLEASE STAND WITH US TO SEE ZERO CHILDREN FORCED TO LIVE ON THE STREETS.
